Newark Community and Activity Village

The YMCA Community and Activity Village is a flagship not for profit project in Newark.

Nottinghamshire YMCA partnering with Newark and Sherwood District Council are creating the new Sports and Community development.

The project includes hub building, cycling track, multi-use all-weather sports pitches, six-lane full-size athletics track, five-a-side pitches, a skate park and a stadium football pitch.

At the centre of the development is the community building, which will be home to a café, function rooms, children’s activity spaces and accredited hospitality and catering training schemes. The plans also incorporate an adult education programme and a nursery.

The first phase of the site was completed and handed over in 2019, this included the football pitches and athletics track.  The remainder of the space is set to open in Spring 2021.
